ONCOSOFT (CEO: Jinsung Kim) is a company specializing in medical big data and software development. The company moved its headquarters from Daejeon to Chuncheon (Gangwon National University) after participating in the Regional Vitality Project.
Founded in 2019, ONCOSOFT's motto is 'medical big data from the perspective of medical staff'. The goal is to develop AI-based technologies that help doctors and staff treat patients safely and accurately. ONCOSOFT participated in the Gangwon-do Regional Vitality Project to develop a new platform technology for cancer treatment.
As the number of cancer patients increases, the medical community is faced with the challenge of streamlining its work. The increasing demand for radiation therapy and precision treatment has led to a surge in workload. Cancer treatment is all about focusing radiation on cancerous tissue. This is accomplished in two ways. One is to "contour" using medical imaging such as CT or MRI so that normal organs do not receive a large amount of radiation, and the other is to develop a "treatment plan" so that the radiation is focused on the cancerous tissue. ONCOSOFT is developing software to facilitate this procedure. It is developing software that automates treatment planning using artificial intelligence technology and can be applied directly to the work process of medical staff.
An official from ONCOSOFT said, "We expect to take the lead in utilizing cloud (service provider's server) based medical AI technology in the medical field by participating in the Regional Vitality Project."
